ChristianMingle.com – Find God’s Match for You!? WTF!!!

Let God Work His Magic Through ChistianMingle.com For the last few weeks I’ve been bombarded with television commercials telling me that God has a match for me. Where do I find that match? ChristianMingle.com of course as their company slogan is ‘Find God’s Match for You’

So let me get this straight…..God has a match for me but better yet he has created a website for his followers to find their soul mates? No it’s not God, it’s actually a company called Sparks Networks, Inc. that not only owns ChristianMingle.com but 30 other online dating sites. Maybe it’s just me but using God to hock subscriptions to a dating site seems wrong and somewhat EVIL. There’s nothing wrong with single people trying to meet other single people using online dating sites but shamelessly using God to do their dirty work rubs me the wrong way. Worst of all, they have Pastors hocking memberships to the site such as Pastor Jay Dennis, Sr.

“As a follower of Jesus where do you find that right person, that one who is God’s will for your life? In the past as a Senior Pastor I have said, find him or her in church. I still believe that but my definition of Church has expanded beyond four walls as I have become a friend and fan of Christian Mingle. God’s man for you ladies or God’s woman for you men may be in a church a thousand miles away; in the next city, or even in the same town. How do you find them? You log onto Christian Mingle.com and allow God to use this process to help you discover the person He has for you. Give God an opportunity to work through Christian Mingle.” – ~Pastor Jay Dennis, Sr. Pastor, First Baptist Church at the Mall, Lakeland, FL

Is Pastor Dennis telling us that God does not have an opportunity to work his magic through a site like Match.com or EHarmony.com? Better yet, if God has a match for you don’t you think he’d do it for free? I think he would but apparently God prefers charging membership fees ranging from $29.99 a month to as low as $13.99 per month as long as you prepay for 6 months. At least God, I mean Sparks Networks, Inc. give all followers of Jesus Christ 24 hours to browse profiles with photographs so a perspective member can lust for an attractive follower of God so God has the opportunity to work. Of course, if one were to find a spouse through the site and were to get divorced, God would have nothing to do with it as it was not God’s match but simple human error as God cannot be wrong.

I can’t wait to get a cease and desist letter with a threat of a lawsuit from the publicly traded Sparks Network. What they don’t know is that God himself spoke to me and asked that I create this blog post to shed light on this heinous and blasphemous corporate titan. "I have your back KnowItAll!" - Jesus Christ Our Lord and Saviour

If God now has a hand in the online dating scene what else can the God PR machine come up with next? Duh…. StupidityisContagious.com – God’s Choice for Politically Incorrect Opinions.

I hate these commercials. Using religion and God’s name to con people to your website. Our society has sunken to new lows.

You are are right about christianmingle website and spark networks.

I just tried to get them to refund money back onto my credit card for service they
charged me for….that I did not want.

I let a friend talk me into trying an online dating service….you know….the line….it’s free, it christian, and hear are more privileges, just $14.00 a month for four months….but then the thieves used my credit card number to charge me another $84.00 for future services…that I do not want.

You know the drill….Oh, you had the opportunity to cancel at any time….try to find
that cancel button on the site. Don’t give your card number to anyone….

If your as lonely as I was when I tried that horrible company’s site…..DON’T do it!
Take Tai Chi, volunteer, work in your garden, visit your children, lift weights, take a class, learn to knit….do anything legal….except wast your money on a dating site that could care less about you…They just want your money.

Trust me….when they said my best match was my X-husband I knew it was a crock….
and the worst way to spend any of my money so I stayed off the site.

Unfortunately, I did not get the membership canceled before the billed my credit card again. I got them blocked from using my card again, but I will probably have to pay the amount the put on it before I got it blocked.

It is better to be alone, than to start an relationship with someone who could be from anywhere in the world, who lies like a rug, and just looking for empty sex, money, or someone who will be their token “friends with benefits” person.

The thing is you guys don’t know what youre talking about and youre being really critical. If you were a homosexual you might go to a homosexual bar; If youre black you go to a black bar; If youre a white yuppy you would perhaps frequent yuppy bars or dating websites. If youre Christian you dumb dick you go to a Christian dating website. For instance I don’t want a regular website because people like you and your posters don’t know jack about being a good Christian and I don’t want to be bothered with teaching the person i’m hoping to meet why this type of site is ok. Regular people don’t know that because i’m a Christian I am not going to be intimate, or that I don’t sleep in on Sunday because i’m a Christian. Why do people sit up and make fun of other people trying to do their thing. I just can’t stand it. I’ll be glad when you losers are gone(lol probably shouldn’t say that but whatever). Even if it’s not run by Christians at least chances are that the people who would be drawn to and appreciative of this site have more of a chance to be who i’m looking for. God can work through this website because He is God. There is not just one person that is meant for another person. So two Christians could very well find a good God approved match through this website.

First of all, no one here has made fun of people using christian mingle to meet people. The problem I have as well as everyone else has is using the name of God to market a damn dating website. I don’t think anyone would have a problem with ChristianMingle.com if the slogan was “Where Christians Connect” but of course this is not the case. It’s pathetic to use the name of God to market anything let alone a dating website. God can work through any dating site if it’s his will. What makes Christian Mingle anymore special than Match.com? Oh, because it’s God’s choice for dating websites? Please if anyone is being a dick it’s you. Ask yourself a question! Why is it that ChristianSingles.com or ChristianCafe don’t use the name of God to market their services!?

The Toyota Prius – “God’s Choice for Hybrid Vehicles.”
Pepsi – “Catch the Wave of God’s Generation.”
Starbucks “God’s Choice for a Cup of Joe.”

If it’s fair for one it’s fair for all!

Thank you for your blog post! It was exactly what I was looking for. Now i don’t feel so alone! Good job! However, I wanted to point out a couple wrong word choices because they detract from your message. You had written, ” using God to hock subscriptions,” and later, “hocking memberships.” That means God tried to pawn them. What you meant was that God was trying to sell, or HAWK, memberships. That’s exactly right: God’s evidently hawking memberships. What a shameful thing to propose to PROSPECTIVE members – not ‘perspective’ members.
Again, thank you for your thoughts. They’re much appreciated!

I think the management and ownership of Christian Mingles is the absolute scum of the Earth – and the pastors who endorse CM or who consult them are beyond rediculous. I wrote that Baptist Minister you spoke about and told him how stupid his endorsement was particularly in light of the fact that – CM Admin will tell you straight up they are not Christian owned and operated.

I am convinced based on a multitude of experiences with them that not only are they not Christian but they hate Christians and basically think we are a bunch of idiots – and of course they are happy to get rich off of our stupidity. I read somewhere that Sparks uses money from CM to sponsor a homosexual website. I don’t doubt it.

I found their customer service staff rude, insulting and uncooperative. They have the worst ethics of any company I have ever dealt with. Among other things, like most scum bag (sorry for the language but it fits) dating services they do things like send fake emails from nonexistent members and keep people’s profiles posted after they cancel their memberships to make it look like they have more members than they do. They also put cookies on your computers which are basically spyware – and in the case of CM – a lot of the stuff their customer service department does is done just out of pure spite. They have enough money and power to get away with a lot of garbage. It seems obvious to me that more than wanting to keep your money – they simply enjoy it – because again they are a bunch of leftwing liberals who really hate Christians and Christian values. What a trip – they get to take money and mistreat people they hate.

There is nothing that I would like to see than a class action law suit big enough to put a lot of hurt on them or even put them out of business. Of course we need to pray for those people, but of course a lot of them are hardened against the truth to the point of no return – and of course eventually law suit or not they will all eventually get what they deserve. I wouldn’t wish it on even them, but they make it easier to see why people (anyone who rejects Jesus) would be sent to Hell

And one more thing – all of you fellow Christians should write all of the pastors who endorse or consult Christian Mingles – and “politely” let them know all of the reasons why they should stop doing so.
I say “politely” for those people who are more carnally minded. Your opinion probably will have less value if you use profanity or huge insults – although I could understand that temptation in this case.
I think all of those pastors need to know what the facts are.

Everytime I see your commercials I think, how can you do this it is sacrilege, posing as though you have god in your hip pocket. I seriously think this should be discontinued, I don’t think Christians or any religious group would agree with this, at least not if they know anything about the bible. . Then you take some of the bible and use it to promote your sight. It truly make me feel a litlle ill. Please change the way you use god’s name it truly is sacrilege.

The people behind/owners of “Christian Mingle.com” are the worst, most vile scum of the earth, profiteering off of ignorant Christians, by using slogan’s such as “Find God’s Match For You”, -as if they are GOD or can say with certainty that you can “Find God’s Match For You” (only on their website). They also use the slogan “…When God is saying it’s your time to act”, as if they know what God is saying. Our government/FTC should ban/abolish them from using such criminal deceptive advertising.
